Brazilian Wax

Brazilian wax is a type of waxing that is connected to the bikini area. It is different from bikini wax as basically Brazilian wax is when all hair is removed from the pubic area not only the borders trimmed.

Brazilian wax is not for every woman as it might feel a bit uncomfortable and unfamiliar when it is done for the first time. And for some women it never becomes comfortable as it deals with the most intimate part of the body and it is not easy to reveal it other people and have them ripping of hair from there. On the other hand, for some it feels very natural and they cannot imagine their life without a proper Brazilian wax.

When you decide to have a Brazilian wax, the best thing to do at first would be to go to a professional salon as there people know exactly what they are during and therefore are able to decrease your fear towards the whole process. In addition, as the people working in beauty salons have usually done the Brazilian wax many times before, it will probably be less painful for you if they do it because they do not make mistakes as you can make when you try to do it yourself for the first time.

HI, I, usually remove unwanted hair myself by using hair removal creme{ nair} but hair growth back quite quickly, and last time I have done a BRAZILIAN WAX I have burnt myself not because I kept the creme to long but because the creme went into contact with my sensible part. That is the reason why I want to go for a waxing and also to find out about the cost.

the brazilian wax hurt so badly that i thought i would pass out, by the end i felt as if i was high from the pain. but loved the results, and so did my husband. now looking into laser hair removal, it is so nice to feel so fresh and so clean and so, well, unhairy! expensive, but to endure such pain, i would rather have it be permanent!

It was great... although never do it a sketchy chinese nail salon - they have no idea! that was the bad part - results were fantastic and glad i went first when i saw my friend go after me and noticed she kept sticking the same stick in the wax for me (the wax my friend would then get put onto her too) - ewwww. Also glad i was the first to use that wax taht day, we came when it opened. Go somewhere clean, professional, and more pricey - they know what they are doing, hence the higher prices = less pain and better results.

Ok, this may seem weird, but I want to try this too. I want to surprise my wife. Anyone know any guys that have had it done? I'm concerned about proper 'etiqutte'. If it does hurt so good, so to speak and...I'm being very honest here, I'm not joking, but I can't find much for guys.

Waxing is not for everyone- I went first to see what it was like for my wife and now, four years later, I could not imagine shaving again. For some it hurts way more than others which is why my wife won't even try it. I've been doing it so long now that I don't really feel it anymore. It feels like tape being gently pulled off. Talk about clean! What an addition this has done for the bedroom...All women should get B-waxed, it should be a natural law(then maybe my Wife will go!).

The coming appointment is my third one. I felt weird first. After I did the first time, it is not that bad. It was surprised to my wife, she said " I can believe you did that." But she liked it very much. After that, I kept going to do that becasue i felt great, nice and clean. The waxer is very professional, and skillful and had 5 years experiences. She has a website at http://www.brazilianwaxingstudio.com

Its not wierd. Been waxed 4 times. Your wife will love it and so will you. You will have to find a high end spa, and if the do men they know exactly what to do. If you have any questions just ask them. The more you wax the easier it gets. The hair seems to grow back finer. Good Luck

I have now had two playboys and a brazilian done. I will never go back to shaving or cream removal again!!! Prefer the playboy, and it doesn't really hurt that bad, although my professional does use hot wax (brazilian bikin wax) which is slightly different to normal wax. The wax sticks to the hair not the skin. You feel much cleaner, it last longer, plus when hair does grown back in it isn't as thick. Definetly recommend, plus go to a proper professional who is highly recommended and trained, just not anyone!!!

I had my first "Pamela Anderson" (what the salon calls it) done today - where everything's taken off but a patch shaped to look like a heart. It did hurt right after they remove the strips, but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Definitely go to a reputable place, you do get what you pay for. It's only been a few hours, but I feel great.

Had my first californian last month and it was fabulous - much loved by me and my husband! Had it done by a very professional salon - it did hurt but boy is it worth it! Perfectly smooth for a week and grow back very soft and not remotely itchy thankfully. Thoroughly recommend it, there is no going back to shaving!

Im going to get a brazilian done asap, for the first time. As in this month.. Im not so concerned about the pain, but im in a small community and it will be harder to find the right person. There is a estetics school nearby so im sure it wont be too hard. Im trying to find usual or competitive prices for other areas than bc kootenays. Just curious if it would cost more here or less..

Just wondering if any-one has any advice or tips on how to avoid ingrown hairs after waxing (brazilian)? I have had a brazilian wax in the past but stopped getting it done after a bad experience wit ingrown hairs. Any suggestions would be appreciated as i really want to get a brazilian done again soon!

I\'ve had the brazilian done a couple of times by a friend. However he is no longer able to do it for me. So I am taking a big step and going to see a stranger to get it done tomorrow. I so prefer the hairless feeling, hasn\'t been like that for a few months now and I miss it.

Hi,

Could sum1 tell me what to expect, I'm going for my first professional bikini wax soon. I am a little concerned about the pain but more the modesty side of things.
What should I wear/not wear? I imagine an old pair of underwear but then again I dnt want them to think I have nasty old pants so will risk my nice La Senza pair. What happens? I'm sure they'll tell me, I am so embarassed to go but the last 2 times I waxed myself I really bruised my skin and made it sore so I dnt want to do that again!

Thanks

I do Brazilian waxing. There is more than one way to do it, and all we care about is removing the hair. I use a spray to numb the area, and my clients love it. The only RUle... the skin must be held taught, if you cannot do it, then it makes for a less than perfect experience. The wax should be a low temperature wax, or a hard wax as not to irritate the skin. The more you have it done, the easier, quicker, and more comfortable it gets. Make sure they use a special wax made for the Brazilian and not just any wax that is in the container.

Hi
I'm a therapist and usually do my own waxing wouldn't recommend this unless you are a proffessional I had a brazilian recently which was fast but hurt where i least expected on the top then I decided to go full hog and removed everything using hot brazilian wax which was more comfortable very happy still smooth few weeks later also using hair inhibitor to weaken the regrowth!

I have the same issue with ingrown hairs, no matter what I do. But there is a great product called Tend Skin, a lot of salons sell it. It gets rid of the ingrowns within a day or two. You can also put it on the day after you have the wax and a lot of times it will prevent them from even showing up. Great product, but make sure you don't get a knock off or another brand, I've tried several and Tend Skin is the best.

The brazillian is beautiful. I take my girlfriend to get it done every month. We take our trip to the Bee Hive in Beverly Hills. She seems to have a pretty good remedy for the pain; she drinks a big glass of wine before her appt. and sometimes takes some advil.

It does hurt

I am a man that has chosen to have my face Brazilian waxed instead of shaving. I think that it is better than shaving, but really hurts the first time that you do it. The pain decreases as you get used to it and undergo more wax treatments.

I have found that men if you decide to wax your face instead of shaving that you must be patient. It takes time remove the dense facial hair, and you will have to undergo numerous wax treatments untill you are to reach the goal of having to go only every three weeks or four weeks before you have to have another wax session.

I have four wax treatments, but I am not able yet to reach the goal of having to go only every three to four weeks.

You do have to deal with looking unkempt for a time untill you have had enough wax treatments to enable you to have to go in every three to four weeks. The hair gets finer and finer the more times that you have it done so eventually you will be able to go in only every three or four weeks.

Im an esthetician, and I do brazilians, and I love them.. Everything is so clean looking. And I even get t do my first male client in 2 weeks.. now thats gonna be interesting.

But if your planning to wax your girlie part, dont do it at home by yourself, go to a salon.. Cause its hard to pull the wax strip right w/out help.

So ladies, dont give yourselfs burns, scabs, and hpyerpigmentation, and pay the money to do it correctly.. or go to a beauty school.. 1/2 the price, just its donr by students.. trained ones.
Best wishes

I'm going for my first brazilian in a couple of weeks, my questions are... how long does it usually last the first time? Should I trim up down there before I go? I used to shave but found I was getting too bumpy and couldn't stand the regrowth so I've decided to try the brazilian waxing as I can't stand all the hair. Thanks for any help or suggestions!

I went last Saturday and had my first brazilian done at Bon Allure in Old Hickory, TN. Janet did a fantastic job and really made it a comfortable experience. Yes there are parts that hurt more than others but for the most part it is bearable. I have to go back in about a month to get a sensitive area finished up. Janet thought that the area was getting a bit to irritated and instead of hurting me asked me to wait until next time to finish the area. I was glad to find someone that was very professional and really cared about the client and the results. It took me about two hours to get an almost complete brazilian done. All I can say is take a couple of Advil about an hour before you go to your appt.

Brazilian waxing is not that bad, as long as you get someone that knows what they are doing. A lot of people only wax because they have the utensils to do it. You really should find out where to go. I have been waxing since 2001, I am known to be the fastest and least painful wax around. Feel free to visit BaK 4 More Studio in Lexington KY. And I can assure you that you will be satisfied. I wax myself because of the pain other people have put me in.

I get my brazilians done every month and a half at Sweet Sensation in Houston, Texas off of Westheimer, near Shepherd. The woman at the business is extremely professional, and she uses sugaring rather than wax, which is wonderful since it's better for your skin to do sugaring. I have been to several in Houston and Calgary, and she is my favourite.

I was nervous about letting someone between my legs the first time, but these people have seen enough now that they almost seem bored about it. It's worse to go to the obgyn for me. With the wax, they aren't looking at your privates, they're looking at your hairline the way a hairstylist would, which definitely put me at ease.

Good luck to all you first timers! You're going to love how soft your skin feels after you have your Brazilian.

TO ANNE:

Anne, I went to Bliss Spa in NYC and they don't use strips. They use some blue wax that takes seconds to harden on your skin and then they rip that off. It didn't hurt so much. She did use strips for small hairs that she missed. It was my first time getting it done and I'm definitely only going here to get it done.

I waxed forever. Now I've turned to laser hair removal. Doesn't hurt at all. Only about 10-20% of the hair will ever grow back after 6 treatments and those that do are very fine and light. Much more economical if you are a religious waxer like I was. Best beauty move you'll ever make!
