why do i get a rash after shaving

As for why, its possible that it opens very delicate pores and stuff gets in them.

As for what to do to avoid a rash, use a gentle hypoallergenic unscented soap, use1% cortizone cream twice a day, wear cotton panties for the first couple days and don't plan your hot date for that night!
